Moth Mommy
my project · built for Club Lunaria
Club Lunaria's own Discord bot, written for that one server.
Built for one server
Most Discord bots are built to be configured. Moth Mommy was built to fit, and that is a much easier problem. When there is exactly one server to keep happy you get to make decisions instead of settings.
You can see it in the commands, which are named after things the club actually does, and in the defaults, which are whatever Lunaria needed rather than whatever is safest for some server I have never seen.
The shop
The club sells things, and taking the money is the easy part. Everything after is the interesting bit: the right roles, the right access, a record of it, and none of that waiting on a person to notice and go do it by hand.
That integration is the piece I am most pleased with, and you can tell it works because nobody ever mentions it.
Moderation and logging
Auto moderation, warnings, and logs detailed enough to actually settle an argument about what happened. Role changes, joins and leaves too, because in a community that size those are exactly the things somebody asks about three weeks later.
What it turned into
After a while it was pretty obvious most of what I had built was not really about Lunaria. Moderation is moderation. Tickets are tickets. So KanaKuni is that half, rebuilt to be configured instead of fitted, and sold to whoever wants it. Moth Mommy keeps the parts that only make sense for one club.
